The designer behind the brand is Yugoslavian-born Gorjana Reidel who, after finishing college, decided it was time to put her interest in fashion to the test. The result was the 2004 launch of her contemporary jewelry collection, gorjana. The brand is influenced by the styles in its bi-coastal headquarters (Laguna Beach and New York City) as well as some global travel experience. From simple gold hoop earrings to a feather necklace, the pieces in the gorjana collection are quirky, simple, yet everlastingly modern.

Before buying, gorjana jewelry can be modeled by Cindy Crawford, Jessica Alba, and Debra Messing, three fans of the gorjana brand. Stemmed from the success of her jewelry collections, Gorjana Reidel launched a collection of contemporary handbags in 2009.

The modernly white walls and shelfs are combined with a spark of electric lime green that welcome anyone who is interested in chic fashion.  The dazzling chandeliers that introduce a delicate feel is sharply contrasted by the black tables and daring animal print rug that adorns the center of the store. Mannequins smartly dressed by the latest fashions beckons customers to search through erica k.’s extensive collection of designer brands including Michael Kors, Theory, Lauren Merkin, and Twill 22 among others.

Customers will find anything they need to dress up, or down at erica k.  Lingerie as well as a large display of eclectic jewelry gives customers the entire package.  Pampering is also welcome with selected candles, soaps, and lotions by Karen Klein.

Present in the store are dresses from top designers such as Nicole Miller, Chloe, Yolana Arce, Juan Carlos Pinera, Betsey Johnson, and Marc Bower.  Seychelles also carries a plethora of small name designers whose designs are not sold in major department stores.

Owned by the mother and daughter team of Pansy and Keisha, Seychelles has homes in both New Haven and Westport. Any style of dress from a night out on the town to a gala, the store offers various colors and styles in order to find the “this is it” perfect dress for any occasion.

The small boutique prides itself on its community feel and accepts special orders as well as custom fitting for customers who do not fit within the 0-16 size range offered at the store.  Seychelles offers customers an opportunity to make an appointment in order to have quality time with their own personal stylist.
