Stay Warm with Helly Hansen
The treacherous winds and full-frontal storms exhibited by Mother Nature, is a sure-fire way to challenge any outdoorsmen. It was at least a way for a captain to have a side business. In 1877, Norwegian captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife Maren Margarethe led an expedition on dry land. Using their firsthand knowledge the husband and wife team used linseed oil to soak coarse linen, developing oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins, perfect for any climate. Ten years, the company left the Paris Expo with an diploma in excellence, and an idea to export their products.
The gear is developed for amateurs and world-class sailors, skiers and adventurers. From jackets to playsuits, Helly Hansen combines extremely classy looks with the best technology to make any climate comfortable. Their development of HH® Warm™ is a baselayer for cold weather, which combines Lifa® Stay-Dry™ Technology and Merino wool. This aids in moisture transport and provides added warm for activities with varied intensities.
One of their many popular gear is Helly Hansen’s 3-Layer System™ made for serious mountaineers and athletes. It is extremely beneficial and technically sound for high-altitude environments and conditions. As the materialization of this system, the Odin collection won the 2008 Red Dot Design Award.
