New England Brewery Pours The 203 A Perfect, Refreshing Pint Minutes Outside New Haven.
Beer is one of the most widely consumed alcoholic beverages in the world. The keys to a rich brew include proper ingredients, time, and skill. Southern Connecticut’s only micro brewery, New England Brewery, is well known for making great tasting beer as well as for its unique use of aluminum canning.
Unlike many larger breweries that include filler such as rice and corn, microbreweries practice traditional brewing methods by excluding them in their recipes. The end result is a richer flavor and higher quality beer. The demand for Craft beers has increased greatly because of their distinct taste that differentiate them from main-stream brands of beer. New England Brewery has tapped into this demand, providing Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida with a flavorful array of brews.
Owner and head brewer Rob Leonard opened New England brewery in Woodbridge in 2001. He has been brewing for over 18 years since he landed his first job working for New Haven Brewing in 1992. While serving as Brew Master for The John Harvard’s Brew House Chain, Leonard learned about an opportunity to purchase New England Brewing Company from its original owners. After acquiring the name, Leonard relocated the business from South Norwalk to its current location.
