Manhattan Motor Club
The Classic Car Club is the creation of brothers Phil and David Kavanagh. It was first introduced in London in 1995, and since its opening, this very exclusive club has been spreading throughout Europe. The Manhattan location is the first in the United States, and for a hefty fee of $10,000 to $20,000 members have the opportunity to drive the fastest and most coveted cars in the world.
Located in SoHo, this 9,500 square foot garage and clubroom is home to some of the most expensive vehicles in the world. Members have a point system, and those with the most points get to drive the best, fastest, and most popular cars in the garage. For some, just the thought of driving around New York City is enough to sake them at their feet, but this club was made for the big city. With its doors open 24 hours, car enthusiasts can choose what toy to drive whenever they want. For those passionate about horse power, having different cars at their disposable is the perfect, and more responsible idea. To store one of these beauties in the big city can be as costly as owning one of them, and why own only one when you can have an array of options to choose from?
There are 47 cars at The Classic Car Club in Manhattan available, ranging from the 1957 Porsche Speedster, 1966 Mustang
Fastback, 2001 Jaguar Supercharged LWB Vanden Plas, 2005 Ferrari F430, to the 2008 MASERATI Granturismo, and new additions are made frequently. A 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo for an afternoon drive around 5th Avenue, followed by a weekend in let’s say, the Hamptons, cruising around in a 1975 Alfa Romeo GTV; or maybe a 1965 Shelby CobraFerrari F430 if the mood strikes. Everything is covered by the club, insurance, maintenance, and breakdown recovery, all members have to do is return the car with the gas spent. But ridiculously expensive cars is not the only thing these high roller members enjoy. Camaraderie, parties at the club, first-class travel to Formula 1 events worldwide, and informal monthly get-togethers are also shared by those holding a membership. It is a safe haven for those car aficionados with a couple thousand dollars to spend, and a shared passion and appreciation for beautiful, and expensive automobiles.
From modern to vintage style cars, the Classic Car Club Manhattan offers its members the chance to drive the most exotic vehicles in the world. To continue its growing franchise, the Club will soon open its doors in other metropolitans in the United States, including Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta.
